
Writing Journals
These journals are specially designed to use with Literacy Footprints kits. The
journal provides students with the line spaces and page layout ideal for their
developing skills.
Kindergarten Journal: Horizontally aligned 8″
x 5” pages. The top portion of the journal features a blank practice area and
the alphabet for reference. The bottom portion includes blank writing pages in
the first half of the journal and ¾”-wide lines in the second half to support an
introduction to writing on lines. This journal is 96 pages.
First
Grade Journal: Horizontally aligned 8″ x 5” pages. The top portion of the
journal features a blank practice area and the alphabet for reference. The
bottom portion includes ¾”-wide lines in the first half of the journal and adds
dotted lines in the second half to support letter shape and size practice. This
journal is 96 pages.
Second Grade Journal: Vertically aligned 5″
x 8” pages. The ½”-wide lines include dotted lines to support letter shape and
size practice. This journal is 96 pages.
Third Grade Journal: 9″
x 9” pages, and ⅜”-wide lines include dotted lines to support letter shape and
size practice. Includes a New Word List section where students can record
vocabulary from their lessons. This journal is 64 pages.
Fourth
Grade Journal: 9″ x 9” pages, and includes a New Word List section where
students can record vocabulary from their lessons. This journal is 64 pages.
Fifth/Sixth Grade Journal: 9″ x 9” pages, and includes a New Word
List section where students can record vocabulary from their lessons. This

Reader Response Journal: As students begin to read more complicated texts, it is helpful for them to write about their experiences of the stories. These 24-page, double-sided lined notebooks provide young readers with a resource for journal-keeping about their reading. This journal is included in the Interactive Read-Aloud Second Grade Kit.
